  1. Proper diagnosis of the disease of diabetic/peripheral neuropathy using Epidermal Nerve Fiber Density testing. (insurance coverage varies)
  2. In Office Peripheral Arterial Disease testing to rule out Arterial disease. (insurance coverage varies)
  3. Holistic nutritional approach using top quality medical food products.
  4. FDA approved Class 4 Laser therapy to help increase circulation and decrease inflammation and pain.
  5. HealthLight light therapy to help increase circulation and decrease inflammation and pain. (also available for in home use)

Treatment Steps Typically done at initial evaluation.

  1. ENFD testing is used for determining the extent/confirmation of the peripheral neuropathy via punch biopsy under local anesthesia. The pathologist counts the number of nerve fibers in the biopsy. This is also used to determine the effectiveness of the treatment at later dates. It is typically repeated every 1 – 2 years to determine progress. This procedure is minimally invasive done in the office and typically covered by most insurances. *(Copays and deductible may apply)
  2. ABI testing is used for determining blood flow to lower legs, pain free testing done in office. Serves as a base line test for Peripheral Arterial Disease which can have similar symptoms of burning, tingling, aching, cramping in feet and legs with and without activity. This test is typically covered by insurance. *(Copays and deductible may apply)
  3. Prescribing of holistic medical food product. Start off with regular dose EBM-N6 one tablet twice daily to help increase blood flow and nutritional improve that health and repair damage to the myelin sheath of the nerve fibers and improve blood flow. (Separate purchase required.)
  4. Scheduling of Laser and Light Therapy following a rotational scheduling. (Approximately 15-30 minutes treatment time per appointment.)

Remy Class IV Laser Therapy

You can achieve relief from pain and discomfort caused by peripheral neuropathy with drug free technology: The Remy Class IV Laser.

Class IV laser therapy is used for the relief of pain to accelerate healing and decrease inflammation. When the laser source is placed against the skin, photons penetrate several centimeters down and are absorbed by the mitochondria, which is the energy producing part of the cell. This energy results in the restoration of normal cell function. The main goal of laser therapy is to stimulate the cell to perform its natural functions, but at an enhanced rate.

In contrast to “cold lasers,” which provide no feeling or sensation, high powered diode laser therapy, such as in the Remy Class IV laser provides a warm, soothing feeling.

Positive Effects and Benefits of Laser Therapy

  • Anti- Inflammation
  • Anti-Pain (Analgesic)
  • Accelerated Tissue Repair and Cell Growth
  • Improved Vascular Activity
  • Increased Metabolic Activity
  • Trigger/Acupuncture Points

Why Use Laser Therapy?

  • Painless
  • Easily Applied
  • Highly Effective for Various Conditions
  • Eliminates Pain
  • Reduces the Need for Pharmaceuticals
  • Non-Invasive, Non-Toxic
  • No Known Adverse Effects

Unlike many other alternative treatments that mask pain or only addresses your symptoms, laser therapy treats the underlying condition to promote healing.

HealthLight Therapy

HealthLight devices are easy to use and non-invasive. It’s proven, drug free pain relief.

Light therapy effectively relieves pain.

NO SIDE EFFECTS
Light therapy does not have any side effects. It is all natural and does not add any stress to the body. It is a drug-free way to relieve pain.

QUICK RESULTS
Some patients experience pain relief after just the first session of light therapy. Light therapy increases blood flow to damaged areas and accelerates the body’s natural repair process. This form of therapy tends to produce faster and more progressive relief than many other alternative therapies.

INCREASED CIRCULATION
Nitric oxide is a signaling molecule that relaxes smooth muscle cells found in the arteries, veins, and lymph vessels. When these muscles relax, the vessels dilate, thus allowing increased circulation.

IMPROVED FUNCTION
Nitric oxide causes local vasodilation. That improves blood flow and promotes positive change in the human body.

Improving blood flow relieves pain and helps nerves to begin to carry sensations again.

PAINLESS RELIEF
Some patients report a slight sense of warmth or lightness as circulation is improved and muscles relax. Light therapy temporarily relieves pain by facilitating the natural healing process of the body, and does not add any biochemical, mechanical, or neurological stress to the healing process.
